Haworths, the newest firm to join The Corporate Finance Network, covering the Lancashire region, have completed Project Friary, a tricky acquisition deal, on behalf of their client.
Corporate finance representative at Haworths, Paul Spencer, acted as lead advisor throughout the deal. The client approached Haworths when they were looking at the possibility of acquiring a chain of takeaway food outlets, beginning with the purchase of a fish and chip shop.
Throughout the deal, Paul had a key role in the negotiations, and specifically in agreeing the asset purchase agreement. His negotiating skills were particularly useful in this deal, due to some ongoing issues in communications with the landlord's solicitors.
Although progress was slow at times, the deal was completed successfully in May 2010, with the client looking forward to further acquisitions in the same sector.
